we just returned from our vacation in hawaii. it is truly amazing there, isn't it. everyone that's been there always says how wonderful it is, how it's a paradise. i hate to follow suit, but i totally agree! we were on the big island (hawaii), and from what i understand it is not usually the favorite. probably due to the large amounts of lava there. 99% of our time was on that island, but we loved it. i love the culture, the people, the beauty, the weather and the beaches. super beautiful! if it were a different time in our lives we'd be moving there in an instant!
in adoption news... while we were away, we received an email from the agency saying wait times for little boys have also gone up to 18-24 months. i'm getting a little concerned about the international adoption program in VN. in such a short amount of time, there has become SO much demand for the children. what is to become of it all? it's great to see there's such overwhelming support and desire to provide homes and families for these children... BUT, will there be enough integrity (from both countries) to keep things ethical, keeping adoptions open? it makes me nervous – on a personal level and for the well-being of adoptions in the short and long term. it's definitely something to think about and something for all to keep in mind when choosing their path.
Below are some vacation pics for ya...
